DOW: An Extended Database Browser over the WWW
نویسندگان
چکیده
DOW is an extended World Wide Web interface for database systems. In addition to WWW browsing and navigation, DOW supports HTML document management as well-structured data objects in an ODBMS. We can access stored objects and adapted HTML documents using SQL, keywords, and schema browser. DOW has four main features. First, to manage HTML documents within a database, we introduced an HTML adapter which converts an HTML document into semi-structured data instances. Second, we devised a schema manager to support schema-based data management for adapted HTML documents and other data objects. Third, we can retrieve data objects with schemaless search expressions, as well as schema-based SQL statements, via a retrieval manager. And lastly, it provides an integrated function of WWW and DBMS upon CORBA architecture.
